The San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SCCADAC) conducted random drug testing on employees of the Information Technology and Computer Services Office (ITCSO) today, August 29, at the City Hall Annex Building.

A total of 57 regular and job order employees of the ITCSO, including personnel detailed at the City Hospital and City Health Office, were tested.

SCCADAC Secretariat Ana Liza Macaraya said it was the second time these employees had undergone random drug testing.

The first was on July 19, 2022, which resulted in one job order being positive for illegal drug use.

Macaraya added they would inform the regular employees through a letter if they test positive and undergo a Drug Dependency Examination (DDE) while job order (JO) employees will be discharged automatically from work.

Still, she said, the local government gave the JO employees the option to submit themselves to the community-based drug rehabilitation program (CBDRP) for a chance to return to work.

Macaraya added regular employees who test positive are subject to 6-month counseling or confinement to a rehabilitation center and disciplinary action depending on the result of the DDE under the guidelines of the CSC. (PR)
